The internship is expected to run from April to October with the possibility of an indefinite extension. It will require a time commitment of 5-20 hours per week. The internship will be unpaid at this time.

Ideal candidates will have a flexible schedule. Most hours will be during weekdays, but some evening and weekend hours may be required.

Duties will include:
– Equipment assembly & prep.
– Honey & wax processing
– Event tabling
– Assisting with live hive inspections
– Assisting with live bee removals
– Some administrative tasks
– Misc. bee related tasks

Applicant Requirements:
– You must not be allergic to bees and you must be comfortable with the risk of bee stings.
– You must have reliable transportation. We will work all over San Diego County.
– You must be able to stay calm in stressful situations and be able to communicate well.

This internship will be an excellent opportunity to learn more about bees and beekeeping with many unique experiences. We may be working long, hot days in the sun all while wearing a bee suit. We may have to deal with Africanized bees. There will be good days and bad; successes and failures. You have to be able to overcome the challenges, learn from them and laugh about it later!

Application period ends April 2.

Girl Next Door Honey reserves the right to terminate the internship for any reason at any time.
